About us

Growth Pillar is a social enterprise aimed at supporting families, businesses, and local organisations to successfully plan and deliver growth and sustainability strategies while dealing with their most challenging situations by exploring and utilising their strength through capacity building trainings, mentorship, counselling, participatory planning, and monitored actioning.

Growth Pillar Inc was registered as a social enterprise on 15 March 2021. The enterprise was founded by a young Malawian man who is currently a graduate from the University of Malawi. Today, Growth Pillar has staff and volunteers in 17 districts in Malawi.

Mission

Growth Pillar is committed to providing an uplifting hand of technical assistance that enables families, businesses, and social service institutions to achieve wellness, growth and meet their goals through tailor-made institutional strengthening support and resources.

Vision

Our vision is to be the anchor of technical, psychosocial, and financial support for individuals, families, enterprises and social service institutions

1. Serving the need

Our services serve people and institutions in greatest need, to relieve their suffering and to promote the transformation of their condition of life.

We work together with them to overturn their conditions. We seek to understand the situation of our clients and work alongside them toward fullness of their desired change.

2. Client Value

We believe and respect the dignity, the uniqueness, and the intrinsic worth of our clients, our donors, our staff and their families, our board members and each of our volunteers. By encouraging these important values in our professional culture, our staff is able to have more open and honest working relationships, which extend into their personal, professional and institutional development, and eventually into the desired transformation.

3. Capacity Building

We believe that capacity building is the ultimate basis for success and sustainability. We therefore prioritise capacity building for our clients through trainings, mentorship and coaching, and support with strategic planning and analysis.

4. Process Oriented

Rather than just focusing on the results, the put more effort and emphasis on the process which gets us to the result. We believe that the process is what is most important as it gives us as well as our clients the pride and self-trust besides giving us and our clients new skills and experience that may become important in the future should the problem resurface or should we need to redo this task in the future.

5. Professionalism

Professionalism is key to quality, efficiency and success. Realising the diverse fields from which our clients come from, we ensure we have enough staff on board with professional expertise in all fields such as psychology, development, organisation leadership and management, business management, resource mobilisation, M&E and Research, mental health, SRHR, ICT, agribusiness, education, advocacy, arts, graphics and designing, and more.

We believe in the power of networking and partnerships to achieve sustainable change. We therefore partner with our clients, their communities, investors, government agencies, non-governmental organisations, academic institutions, private companies, international agencies, etc. in the effort to provide quality services, share lessons learn from our work and learn from recommendations of other institutions.
